ALPSP Training
We are committed to ensuring that our courses are personal and highly participative and for this reason delegate numbers are deliberately kept small. This helps to assure a high degree of interaction and we build in plenty of time for questions and discussion to ensure that delegates get the most out of the courses.

ALPSP training is devised and delivered 'by publishers, for publishers' and this is one of the things that makes our training provision unique. Our training activities fulfil a key element of our mission: to help equip publishers with skilled, informed, motivated and highly trained staff who are better able to deal with the rigours of the challenging, complex and rapidly changing landscape of scholarly and professional publishing and make our organizations more successful.

ALPSP Subject Directors
For each strand of our training we have subject directors who are chosen for their expertise and knowledge in a particular area of publishing. Together with the tutors, they bring a wealth of experience to the ALPSP training programme. Throughout the year this panel of experts advises and appraises our training programme, ensuring that the courses we offer are up-to-date and highly relevant to the changing world of publishing. The subject directors, in consultation with our members and other experts, also advise on new courses which are developed to fill the needs of the scholarly publishing community.

Business and Finance (Peter Richardson & Martin Delahunty)
Editorial (Rebecca Marsh & Vicky Williams)
Production and E-Publishing (Colin Davis & Edward Wates)
Marketing (Alexa Dugan & Phil Abrahams)
Legal (Kim Lenart & Fiona Bennett)

Which level of course is right for you?
Our training courses are not solely aimed at those starting their careers. Each course is specifically targeted at delegates with particular levels of experience:
Level 1: Introductory courses for people who are new to the subject
Level 2: For those who have experience in their present positions
Senior Management Workshops, Level 3: For those who have senior management responsibilities.

When booking onto a course please ensure that you read the delegate profile carefully. In certain instances we will ask delegates to fill in a pre-registration form to ensure that they have the relevant experience for the intended course. This will ensure that everyone gets as much out of the day as possible.

In-house courses: We offer many of our courses on an in-house basis - further information and delegate comments.

Funding: There are various sources of funding for training available.

Testimonials: Read what our training users have to say.
